Live Chat consist of a frontend and backend component. This Alpha release has emerged from our earlier Beta relaese. The first version has been downloaded for more than 30.000 times. After several improvements we have decided to release both a free and commercial edition.
You can engage into one-on-one chat sessions with your website visitors or customers. This provides you with a great direct way to communicate with potential customers or to provide support to new visitors and excisting customers..
Customize overall settings
Modify your default welcome text, livechat administrator and online status. If you are offline a default contact form is displayed, so your visitors can still contact you in a different manner.
Save chat sessions
So you can review them later and construct template messages out of them or use them as sticky board.
Customize language settings
All frontend text is ajustable through the Live Chat tool. You can have your own intro text and communicate to your visitors in your own language.

How Does it work?
Whenever a visitor starts a chat on the frontend you will see a new chat appearing on the backend. From within the livechat component you can communicate with the visitor on the frontend. You can also switch between chats or send template messages whenever you have a frequently asked question.
We also created several add-ons, so you don't always have to stay logged into the backend waiting for new chats. You can enable a sound to be played when a new chat starts or use the windows notification app, so you don't have to be logged in at all.
1. Upload Component
Login to your backend and install the component just like any other Joomla component.
2. Change Settings
A new menu item Live Chat has been added to your components menu. Go to it and adjust the setting for the first time. This also alows you to switch between on and offline mode. In offline mode a contact form is presented to the visitor, in online mode a chat window is presented to the visitor.
3. Enable Frontend
Next we need to publish a new menu item pointing towards the Live Chat component. This will allow our visitors to access the chat window.
4. Start Chat
Whenever a visitor starts a chat on the frontend you will see this new chat on the backend. You need to frequently check for new chats inside your backend. You can also enable a sound to be played whenever a new chat starts or use the windows notificaation app, so you don't need to stay logged in to your Joomla backend all the time
